چکیده
Four-dimensional (4D) flow cardiovascular magnetic resonance (4D CMR) imaging has evolved as a versatile technique for the assessment of three-dimensional time resolved haemodynamics. This study aimed to examine utility and metrics derived from 4D CMR in different patient cohorts. Controls (n=26), adult tetralogy Fallot (rToF; n=14), left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH; n=10) patients were scanned at Centre Advanced MRI, University Auckland. Quantification examination between-group differences performed. Intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) used correlate 2D CMR. Forward rates averaged pulmonary veins significantly greater LVH than controls (79.11±54.24 mL/sec vs 32.58±35.98 mL/sec, respectively, p<0.05), was venous atrial reversal peak velocity (–0.44±0.23 m/sec –0.13±0.27 m/sec, p<0.05). Mitral indices net expressed no significant differences. In rToF group, quantification artery branches demonstrated good with Greatest between backward (difference s–2.50±6.91 mL/cycle, ICC 0.96). relation valve regurgitation categorisation, 1 14 cases differently categorised using (ICC 0.91). feasible, single acquisition introducing an array that may be valuable evaluation various conditions. Larger scale investigations are required, wider-scale application routine clinical workflows.

4D flow cardiovascular magnetic resonance consensus statement
Pulsatile blood flow through the cavities of the heart and great vessels is time-varying and multidirectional. Access to all regions, phases and directions of cardiovascular flows has formerly been limited. Four-dimensional (4D) flow cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) has enabled more comprehensive access to such flows, with typical spatial resolution of 1.5×1.5×1.5 - 3×3×3 mm(3), typical ...
متن کاملAge dependence of pulmonary artery blood flow measured by 4D flow cardiovascular magnetic resonance: results of a population-based study
BACKGROUND It was our aim to systematically analyze pulmonary artery blood flow within different age-groups in the general population using 4D flow cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) in order to provide a context for interpreting results of future studies (e.g., in pulmonary hypertension) using this technique. METHODS An age-stratified sample (n = 126) of the population of the city of Fr...
متن کاملTricuspid flow and regurgitation in congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension: comparison of 4D flow cardiovascular magnetic resonance and echocardiography
BACKGROUND Tricuspid valve (TV) regurgitation (TR) is a common complication of pulmonary hypertension and right-sided congenital heart disease, associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Estimation of TR severity by echocardiography and conventional cardiovasvular magnetic resonance (CMR) is not well validated and has high variability. 4D velocity-encoded (4D-flow) CMR was used to measu...

متن کاملImproving visualization of 4D flow cardiovascular magnetic resonance with four-dimensional angiographic data: generation of a 4D phase-contrast magnetic resonance CardioAngiography (4D PC-MRCA)
Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) and Phase-Contrast MRA (PC-MRA) approaches used for assessment of cardiovascular morphology typically result in data containing information from the entire cardiac cycle combined into one 2D or 3D image. Information specific to each timeframe of the cardiac cycle is, however, lost in this process. This study proposes a novel technique, called Phase-Contrast ...
